Albuquerque, NM - Expanded Traffic Accident at I-40 & Rio Grande River

Albuquerque, NM (December 9, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries resulting from a vehicle collision in the Albuquerque area on Sunday, December 8. Late that night, around 8:42 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the crash site on Interstate 40 EB near the Rio Grande River. At least one person involved in the collision was hurt. 

At this time, the severity and number of the related injuries have not been confirmed. The injured parties were provided aid by attending medical personnel. Ambulances were available to transport the crash victims to local hospitals for further support. The roadway was temporarily closed as emergency responders were present. Tow trucks were later dispatched to clear the resulting debris and reopen the area to outside traffic. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
