Albuquerque, NM - Fatal DUI Crash at 4th St & Candelaria Rd

Albuquerque, NM (May 16, 2024) - A driver was killed after a crash involving an alleged drunk driver in the Albuquerque area on Tuesday, May 14. The incident occurred at 4th Street and Candelaria Road intersection late that evening. 

Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to aid the involved parties. The drunk motorist was later identified as 24-year-old Bryson Kayonnie. He was arrested by responding officials. The other driver was reportedly killed in the impact.  The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. Tow trucks were needed to clear the resulting debris and damaged vehicles. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
