Albuquerque, NM - Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Central Ave & San Mateo Blvd

Albuquerque, NM (April 11, 2025) - A driver was arrested in connection with a deadly pedestrian accident in the Albuquerque area on Thursday, April 10. The incident took place at the corner of Central Avenue and San Mateo Boulevard at around 3 a.m. Local reports revealed that the victim was on foot when they were struck by a Mazda pickup truck. 

The driver of the truck fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured party. Emergency crews were later dispatched to the scene. Despite life-saving support from attending medical personnel, the victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. The truck was later traced back to the driver, 31-year-old Nickolis Taber. He is currently facing charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving great bodily harm. No further information on the fatal accident is currently available. Nonetheless, an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
