Regrettably, there are thousands of instances where people are left with severe injuries as a result of accidents caused by negligent drivers. Some of the most common actions that lead to vehicle collisions across our state include:
- Distractions: With so many people utilizing technology, it is no surprise that we are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of accidents that take place due to distractions. We see many accidents take place as a result of drivers who are texting or talking on their phones. Other distractions that lead to accidents include changing the radio or even eating.
- Driving While Drunk: When drivers do not operate their vehicle while sober, it can have severe consequences. Unfortunately, drunk driving can impact a driver’s judgment and their ability to remain in their lane. As a result, drunk and high drivers are more likely to crash into others.
- Running Red Lights: Blowing through a red light or passing a stop sign at an intersection can lead to a devastating accident. Unfortunately, we see this take place far too often here in New Mexico.
