New Mexico Hit-and-Run Accidents
In the United States, hit-and-run accidents are a significant problem, and statistics indicate that the issue is only getting worse with time. Drivers who flee the scene of an accident account for more than five percent of traffic fatalities nationwide, and the annual rate of hit-and-run accidents increases by around 7.2 percent each year. Statistics further show that 68 percent of deadly hit-and-run accidents involve bikers or pedestrians, who are at greater risk of sustaining critical injuries in a car accident.
Pedestrian-vehicle collisions frequently lead to severe injuries. These injuries can vary in severity depending on a number of distinct factors, including the vehicle’s speed, the angle of impact, the body part injured, the vehicle’s construction, and even the location of the accident.
