Auto collisions are a serious problem in the United States. Every year, over 6 million crashes happen in the United States that injure about 3 million people and take the lives of approximately 40,000. These wrecks happen for several different reasons, including bad weather, vehicle problems, and driver negligence. About 4 out of 5 car accidents in the United States are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Most often, drivers who are distracted cause auto collisions. Driver distraction is responsible for over 400,000 car wrecks in the United States each year. Sadly, about 3,000 people are killed in these crashes annually.
