Car accidents have risen to the top of the list of reasons why Americans end up with serious injuries or suffering untimely deaths. New Mexico is noted for having one of the highest car accident death rates in the US. A percentage of these accidents involve motorcyclists, as New Mexico has seen a significantly high rate of motorcycle collisions compared to other states in the past decade. Motorcycle accidents often lead to serious injuries or fatalities, unfortunately. The combination of diverse terrain, unpredictable weather, and winding roadways can create challenges for motorcyclists and the drivers of passenger vehicles alike.
Motorcycle accidents often cause more serious and deadly injuries and fatalities than passenger vehicle collisions. Additionally, New Mexico has a partial helmet law, which implies that only certain motorcyclists are required to use helmets when they ride. This includes individuals under the age of 18 and new riders who have had their license for less than 12 months. Motorcyclists who choose to ride helmet-free are at a much higher risk of sustaining head injuries that can be disabling or even fatal.
When you or someone you love has been injured in a motorcycle collision, you may be worrying about where you can turn for help. Depending on how your crash took place, you may be eligible to collect financial compensation when you file a personal injury claim for compensation with an attorney.
