New Mexico Deadly Semi-Truck Crashes
Catastrophic injuries are far more likely to occur in collisions involving huge semi-trucks. According to the latest crash statistics, 18-wheelers are involved in about 3 percent of collisions in New Mexico, and each year, more than 43,000 car accidents occur in the state. A total of 1,400 of these collisions are thought to include semi-trucks. According to the data, fatal injuries from semi-truck collisions in the state are almost four times more common than those from regular auto collisions. The fact that one out of every fifteen trucking accidents results in serious injuries is even more frightening.
Dealing with the aftermath of a deadly traffic accident is very difficult. You have lost someone close to you, and you feel that your life may never be the same again. It is even harder to deal with once you discover that the death was caused by someone else’s reckless actions. You need to make sure that you understand your ability to pursue full and fair compensation if someone close to you is taken too soon in a serious trucking accident.
Many families do not consider their right to take legal action after a deadly crash. New Mexico state law provides families with the ability to pursue a wrongful death claim in order to recover compensation for the deceased party. These cases are often very complicated, and there is always so much on the line. You need to make sure that you have someone on your side who has handled cases like these in the past. This will help ensure that you are able to reach a successful resolution to your case.
