Albuquerque, NM – Pedestrian Critically Injured in Crash at Airport Dr NW & Central Ave NW
Albuquerque, NM (October 29, 2025) – A serious pedestrian accident occurred Tuesday night, October 28, near Airport Drive Northwest and Central Avenue Northwest, leaving one person critically injured.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, officers and Albuquerque Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the scene around 7:35 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision. Upon arrival, first responders found an individual suffering from critical injuries. Paramedics quickly transported the victim to the University of New Mexico Hospital for treatment.
Medical staff later upgraded the pedestrian’s condition from critical to serious but stable. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities temporarily closed both eastbound and westbound lanes of Central Avenue between Airport Drive and 75th Street as they examined the crash site. Westbound lanes reopened at approximately 8:43 p.m., while eastbound lanes reopened around 9:20 p.m.
The Albuquerque Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating the cause of the crash. Officials have not released the identity of the injured pedestrian or additional details about what led to the collision.
