High-Speed Collisions in New Mexico
Serious auto accidents can be caused by a variety of factors, and some behaviors behind the wheel can even make collisions more likely. One such action is speeding. Every time a driver speeds, they pose a real risk to other drivers, and there are numerous reasons why speeding raises the likelihood of a serious car accident. The distance required to stop completely increases dramatically when speeding, and it also means that drivers are less able to control their cars. Because of this potentially fatal combination, speeding has been the primary cause of traffic fatalities for the past 20 years, accounting for over one-third of all reported road deaths in the United States. Approximately 25 percent of fatal auto accidents involve high-speed collisions. If there is a serious motor accident, drivers who disregard the law should be held accountable.
