New Mexico Distracted Driving Accidents
On the road, distracted driving can mean many different things. While it is common knowledge that texting and driving is dangerous, other behaviors such as interacting with a passenger or fiddling with the radio dial can also be classified as distracted driving. Distracted drivers caused more than 3,000 fatalities and over 424,000 injuries each year in the United States in 2019. That year, one in five persons killed by distracted drivers were not inside the car with the at-fault driver. Distracted driving is very dangerous, and drivers who fail to pay attention to the road should be held responsible in the event of a crash.
