The collision happened shortly after 7 p.m. near the Lomas Boulevard exit, a high-traffic area known for heavy evening congestion.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and found one of the vehicles lying on its side, with two people trapped inside. Crews worked quickly to stabilize the overturned vehicle and safely extricate both victims. All three injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital. One person suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the other two had less serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic slowed significantly as emergency crews blocked lanes to clear debris and remove the damaged vehicles. The Albuquerque Police Department also responded and began examining the scene for evidence. Officers have not yet released details about what led to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
We hope each injured person makes a full and steady recovery.
