Albuquerque, NM – Traffic Alert Issued for Motorist Assist on I-40 EB Near Exit 173

Albuquerque, NM (February 5, 2026) – Authorities issued a traffic alert on Wednesday, February 4, regarding a motorist assist on Interstate 40 eastbound near Exit 173 in Albuquerque. 

According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), deputies responded to the scene to assist a motorist injured in the area of I-40 EB before the 173 exit. During the response, the #3 lane was temporarily closed as crews worked in the roadway.
