Albuquerque, NM - Two Pedestrians Hit by Dodge Pickup at I-40 & 1st St

Albuquerque, NM (October 24, 2023) - Two pedestrians were hurt after being hit by a motor vehicle in Albuquerque on Monday morning, October 23. 

The accident took place at the corner of Interstate 40 and 1st Street early that morning. A Dodge Ram pickup truck was reportedly traveling down the road at a high rate of speed when it drove over the curb and hit a pedestrian. The vehicle then swerved off the sidewalk where it hit another pedestrian. 

One of the victims was listed in critical condition. Both were hospitalized for treatment of sustained injuries. Witnesses said that it looked like the incident was intentional. The at-fault driver fled the scene without rendering aid. 

No additional information has been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
