Albuquerque, NM – Two Public Service Aids Hurt in DUI Crash on I-25
Albuquerque, NM (May 26, 2024) – An alleged drunk driver caused a crash with injuries in the Albuquerque area on Saturday, May 25. The collision was reported late that night around 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 25 SB. Local reports revealed that two public service aids (PSA) were responding to a crash on the interstate at the time of the crash.
It was later revealed that Nathaniel Lucero was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer while intoxicated when he struck the PSA vehicle. The impact caused the vehicle to hit a nearby police car. One of the PSAs was trapped inside the vehicle, and the other was found injured on the roadway. Emergency crews were dispatched to transport the victims to a local hospital for further treatment. Lucero was also hospitalized for treatment. He is currently facing several charges related to the collision, including driving while intoxicated (DWI) and causing great bodily harm by vehicle. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
