Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
The speed of a crash is important, and it is a basic fact that the higher the speed of an impact, the greater the force of impact. This is why nearly 40 percent of deadly collisions in New Mexico involve speeding drivers. Across the country, tens of thousands of people are killed in high-speed crashes each year. In fact, in the past twenty years, nearly one-third of deadly collisions involved speeding. Vehicle safety devices are less likely to work properly when a crash takes place at a high rate of speed, and speeding drivers can potentially be held liable for any resulting injuries and other damages in the event of a catastrophic car accident.
