Anthony, NM – Family Injured After Mobile Home Fire on Warthen Rd
Anthony, NM (November 25, 2025) – A Doña Ana County family lost their home after a mobile home fire on Saturday, November 22, in Anthony. The fire started around 5 a.m. at a residence on Warthen Road. Crews rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a structure fire with people possibly inside.
Firefighters said the home was fully engulfed when the first engine arrived. Flames poured from several sides of the structure, and heavy smoke spread through the area. The four people inside the mobile home escaped before crews reached the scene. Emergency responders treated the family for smoke inhalation. One person needed further medical attention and went to a nearby hospital. Officials have not reported updates on that person’s condition.
Crews worked for about 30 minutes to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading. Even though firefighters stopped the flames from reaching nearby homes, the mobile home suffered major fire and smoke damage. Doña Ana County officials said the structure is now uninhabitable.
Fire investigators said the blaze appears accidental, but they are still working to confirm the exact cause.
We wish the affected family strength and healing as they recover from this devastating event.
Residential Fires in New Mexico
Structure fires like this one often lead to injuries that can linger long after flames die out. Smoke inhalation is one of the most common hazards. It can irritate the lungs, cause breathing problems, and lead to long-term respiratory issues. Burns, falls, and emotional trauma also occur in many home fires. Families may lose housing, belongings, and stability overnight.
Even when victims escape serious burns, inhaling thick smoke can cause coughing, dizziness, throat pain, and chest tightness. Some people continue to feel symptoms for weeks. Recovering families often face mounting expenses, including medical bills, temporary housing, and the cost of replacing essential items.
Under the New Mexico personal injury laws, injured victims may have rights if a fire stems from unsafe conditions, faulty wiring, defective appliances, or someone else’s negligence. In cases involving burns or smoke inhalation, a personal injury attorney can help families understand how state law applies to their situation. Legal support can also help victims handle insurance claims, document damages, and seek compensation for medical care, lost belongings, or long-term health effects.
House fires can cause overwhelming stress, especially for families with children. Speaking with an attorney can help victims understand their options and protect their rights while they focus on recovery.
