Catron Co., NM – Arizona Woman Killed, Two Teens Hurt in Crash on U.S. 180
Catron Co., NM (March 9, 2026) – One woman lost her life, and two teenagers were injured following a crash on Sunday, March 8, along U.S. Highway 180 in Catron County.
According to Catron County Sheriff Keith Hughes, the crash occurred between the communities of Reserve and Glenwood when a vehicle traveling southbound veered off the highway and down an embankment. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver, identified as Sandra Dixon of Safford, Arizona, deceased.
Two teenage passengers who were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash sustained injuries. Both were airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso for treatment. Authorities have not yet released information regarding their current conditions.
Officials reported that U.S. Highway 180 was closed in both directions between Reserve and Glenwood while crews worked to recover the vehicle from the embankment and clear the scene.
