Chaves County, NM (May 14, 2023) - One person was sent to the hospital with injuries after a car crash in Chaves County. The collision occurred at around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 14.
Police say Highway 380 was closed east of Roswell for several hours after a pick-up pulling a trailer was forced to swerve to avoid a head-on crash. The driver struck the front end of the trailer, peeling off the left side of the vehicle and pinning the driver inside.
The driver was airlifted to an area medical center with serious injuries. Their current health condition has not been reported.
Police in Chaves County are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. No other details have been reported at this time.
