Gallup, NM - Update: Jordan Frank Killed in Pileup Crash on I-40

Gallup, NM (March 28, 2023) - Two people were killed, and another was hurt following a multi-vehicle collision in the Gallup area on Saturday, March 25. 

The deadly crash was reported on Interstate 40 near the Arizona state line in McKinley County at around 9 p.m. It was revealed that 60-year-old Bret Wayne Sackett of Utah was traveling west in a semi-truck when he exited the highway at a high rate of speed. The semi hit the back of a GMC Sierra driven by 31-year-old Jordan Frank of Twin Lakes. 

The impact pushed the GMC into a Volvo semi-tractor trailer. Sackett and Frank suffered fatal injuries in the collision, and a 59-year-old passenger in the first semi-truck was hospitalized. No other injuries were reported. 

Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
