Hatch, NM - Two Killed in Semi-Truck Collision on I-25

Hatch, NM (July 5, 2024) - On Thursday, July 4, two people were killed in a crash involving a commercial truck in the Hatch area. The incident took place on Interstate 25, near Nex Mexico State Road 187, just before noon. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid. 

It was reported that a semi-truck and another vehicle were involved in the crash. The center lanes of the highway were closed for two hours while emergency crews were present. Two people sustained fatal injuries in the accident. It is unknown which vehicle the victims were traveling in. The area was later reopened to outside traffic. The identities of the involved parties have been withheld for the time being. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
