Las Cruces, NM - Pedestrian Killed in Crash at Solano Dr & California Ave

Las Cruces, NM (January 1, 2024) - A woman was killed following a pedestrian crash in the Las Cruces area on Friday, December 29. The deadly accident took place at the corner of S. Solano Drive and California Avenue at around 6 p.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a pedestrian-vehicle crash to provide aid to the involved parties. 

Local reports revealed that a 38-year-old woman was traveling on foot when she was hit by a 2018 Dodge Durango. The injured party was provided life-saving aid by paramedics at the scene, but she was later pronounced dead by attending emergency personnel. The 36-year-old driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officials. 

No other injuries were reported in the collision. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
