Logan, NM - Five Hurt in Deadly Head-On Crash on NM-39

Logan, NM (May 25, 2023) - On Wednesday morning, May 24, one person was killed, and five others were hurt after a head-on collision outside of Logan.

The deadly accident occurred on NM-39 near mile marker 32 at around 1 a.m. It was reported that 35-year-old Cesar Gomez Lucio was traveling south in a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV when he crossed into oncoming traffic. The Chevy crashed head-on with a Toyota van. 

Lucio sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The driver and four passengers in the Toyota were injured and treated at the scene. 

The cause of the crash has not been determined at this time. 

Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
