Hondo, NM - Manuel Noriega Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck on Hwy 70

Hondo, NM (May 25, 2023) - One person was killed, and two others were injured after a two-vehicle collision in Hondo on Tuesday, May 23. 

The deadly accident took place on Highway 70 at around 10:50 p.m. It was reported that 40-year-old Manuel Noriega of Riverside was pulling out of a driveway when he was hit by an oncoming commercial truck. Noriega suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A man and woman riding in the semi-truck were flown to a regional hospital for treatment. No updates on their conditions have been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is in progress.
