Los Chavez, NM - One Killed in Crash with Rail Runner Train at Elaine Dr & NM-314

Los Chavez, NM (April 23, 2025) – There were fatal injuries reported after a car accident in the Los Chavez area on Tuesday, April 22. The deadly crash took place at the crossing of NM-314 and Elaine Drive late that night at around 7 p.m. Local reports revealed that the incident involved a Rail Runner train and another vehicle. 

Multiple fire units were dispatched to the scene. One person involved suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported in the impact. At this time, the circumstances leading to the deadly crash have not yet been provided. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities were present, and drivers were advised to avoid the scene and to prepare for significant delays.
