Magdalena, NM – Two Killed in Head-on Crash on US-60

Magdalena, NM (August 14, 2024) – Two drivers were killed and another critically injured after a head-on collision outside of Magdalena on Tuesday, August 13. The fatal crash occurred on US-60 between mile markers 102 and 103 early that morning, around 10:30 a.m. Local reports revealed that two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided. 

Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Both drivers sustained fatal injuries in the impact and were pronounced dead at the scene. The impact caused the vehicles to spin. A passenger sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress, and more information will be provided as it continues.
