Portales, NM (April 3, 2026) – A 29-year-old man lost his life in a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck on Tuesday, March 31, at the intersection of US Highway 70 and East Spruce Street. Emergency units responded just after 5:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a multi-vehicle accident.
Portales Police said the crash involved a motorcycle and a semi-truck at the intersection. Responders arrived and found the motorcycle rider with critical injuries.
EMS personnel pronounced the rider dead at the scene. Officials later identified him as Woodrow Wyatt Nease of Clovis.
The intersection remained affected for several hours as crews worked the scene. Authorities have since reopened the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
