San Lorenzo, NM - One Hurt in Fatal ATV Crash on NM-35 in Grant Co

San Lorenzo, NM (April 11, 2023) - One person was killed and another injured after an accident involving an all-terrain vehicle outside of San Lorenzo on Friday, April 7.

The fatal accident took place in Grant County on NM-35 near mile marker 18 at around 11 p.m. It was reported that a 35-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were riding the ATV when the vehicle overturned. Both riders were ejected. 

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The deceased party was later identified as Alexander Yassie. Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the crash. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is in progress.
