Just under 3,000 semi-truck accidents occurred in New Mexico in 2019, according to the New Mexico Department of Transportation. A total of 75 individuals passed away, and hundreds more were hurt in these accidents. You know directly how physically, emotionally, and financially devastating these collisions can be if you or someone you love has been injured by a semi-truck.
Semi-truck drivers and the companies that hire them must take extra precautions and adhere to strict regulations to avoid collisions. Truck crashes are almost usually more devastating than crashes involving passenger vehicles since big rigs are substantially heavier than passenger automobiles. People using New Mexico roads are at severe risk from trucking companies who skimp on hiring and educating drivers, following safety regulations, and maintaining their trucks.
Injured victims have a legal claim to compensation when a traffic collision is the consequence of negligence—whether on the side of the semi-truck driver, their employer, or another party. Law cases involving truck accidents differ from those involving other motor accidents. They necessitate particular legal expertise, quick thinking to preserve evidence, familiarity with the transportation business, and familiarity with the insurance providers who defend trucking companies.
