Countless people are hurt as a result of car crashes in the state of New Mexico every year. Many people involved in accidents are left with severe injuries.
There are many instances where people suffer severe injuries in accidents due to drivers who are negligent. Neck and back injuries are also common in car accidents. These can range from minor strains and sprains to more serious issues like herniated discs or spinal cord injuries. Symptoms may include pain, numbness, and weakness.
Head injuries are another potential consequence of car accidents. They can range from concussions to more serious traumatic brain injuries. Symptoms of head injuries may include dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, memory problems, and changes in mood or behavior.

Depending on the circumstances surrounding your accident, you may have legal options available to help you move forward. It is important to understand the fault laws in our state.
Regarding motor vehicle accidents, New Mexico is a “fault” state. That means the person who caused the accident is responsible for the damages. The at-fault driver’s insurance company will pay for the victim’s damages up to the policy limits. If the at-fault driver does not have insurance or the victim’s damages exceed the at-fault driver’s policy limits, the victim can file a personal injury lawsuit against the driver to recover damages.
After being injured in an accident, this type of legal claim can help you secure financial compensation to cover the damages you face. This can include recovering compensation for your medical expenses, repairs to your vehicle, lost wages, and more.
