There were 466 traffic fatalities reported across New Mexico in 2022. Of these deaths, around 122 involved car crashes. Almost 36 of these deadly accidents involved intoxication or alcohol, making up 170 traffic deaths. Many people who were killed in crashes across the state that year were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. In fact, the data reveal that 180 unrestrained occupants were killed in collisions compared to 106 restrained victims.
It can be incredibly difficult for crash victims to pursue a case on their own as they deal with their injuries and other damages resulting from a serious auto accident. You are at risk of being taken advantage of by a large insurance provider if you do not have legal representation working on your side. Having a lawyer on your side will greatly level the playing field and give you a much better chance of getting the compensation you need and deserve to cover the full extent of your damages. You need to make sure you collect relevant evidence when you are still at the scene of the crash. This can include taking photos of the crash site and damaged vehicles, getting contact information from local witnesses who may have seen the incident, and using the police report to get an official account of what took place.
Doing all the things necessary to get full compensation can seem overwhelming on your own. Your lawyer can help take over some of the more difficult aspects of your claim to make sure that you are able to stand a chance when you file a personal injury claim. You can focus on your health, well-being, and recovery while our legal team works diligently to protect your legal rights while going up against a large insurance provider.
