Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Albuquerque drivers rank among the worst in the states, and that is even more impactful when you realize that statistics show that New Mexico drivers are among the worst in the country. In 2019, there were 19,034 collisions reported in the county of Bernalillo, with an average of one crash every 27 minutes. With 675 reported alcohol-related car accidents that year, Albuquerque had the highest rate of DUI crashes in the state that year.
No matter what causes a car accident to take place, there is always a chance of serious injuries. A car accident can leave victims feeling extremely disoriented and unable to process information, and this can mean they wrongfully believe that they were not hurt as a result of the crash. We all want to hope for the best, but you should never just assume you are completely fine in the aftermath of a collision. You need to see a trusted medical professional who can give you an in-depth examination so you can accurately understand your condition. This can even serve as a way to connect the crash and your current condition if you later choose to pursue a claim for compensation.
You need to be able to make informed decisions about your recovery following a collision, and that often means working with a trained lawyer who can guide you through the process of making a complete recovery. You never want to be on your own to seek a claim. Instead, have a trained professional on your side making sure your case is as strong as it can possibly be.
