Speeding-related Accidents in New Mexico
Everyone knows that speeding is a major cause of serious car crashes, and drivers in New Mexico often do it while they’re behind the wheel. In fact, almost 37 percent of the state’s fatal accidents are caused by drivers who are going too fast. Over one-third of traffic deaths on American roads in the last 20 years have been linked to speeding, with over 10,000 people dying in high-speed crashes each year. When a driver speeds, they have less time to respond to possible road hazards and keep control of their car, a dangerous combo that increases the risk of a serious crash.
