Albuquerque, NM (December 29, 2023) - On Thursday afternoon, December 28, a homeowner was killed after a driver crashed into a residence in Albuquerque. The incident occurred at the corner of Indian School Road and Morris Street at around 12:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that 52-year-old Mark Castello was operating a white Ford Expedition when he ran a stop sign at Propps Street and crashed through a garage door on Mahlon Avenue.
The Expedition traveled halfway through the residence where it struck a vehicle. The impact pushed the vehicle into the home where it hit the homeowner who was sitting inside. The injured party was transported to a local hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. Castello was extricated from the vehicle and hospitalized for treatment.
Castello was charged with driving under the influence and apprehended by authorities. No additional information is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
