Sustaining injuries in a serious car crash is no joke. It is never easy to be seriously injured, especially when the injuries could have been prevented. Driver negligence leads to injuries for millions of people every single year in the United States. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that over 90% of reported car crashes in the US are caused by driver negligence. When we consider the astronomical number of accidents reported each year (about 6 million), it becomes shocking to consider that more than 5 million car crashes happen per year due to driver negligence.
Driver negligence comes in many different forms, including distraction, fatigue, intoxication, and speeding. In New Mexico, speeding has become a serious issue, as well as driver intoxication. Drivers who choose to travel at unsafe speeds and/or while intoxicated seriously risk their own safety and the safety of other drivers on the road with them. When negligent drivers cause accidents, they are usually severe and sometimes even devastating. Due to the fact that negligent drivers are often not paying attention, are intoxicated, or are speeding, the accidents they end up causing almost always end in severe injuries or death for at least one individual involved.
When you or a loved one of yours has been seriously hurt in a car crash, it is vital to determine how the wreck occurred, especially if you know it wasn’t your fault. If you are able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that another person’s negligent actions caused your crash and, ultimately, your injuries, a car crash lawyer in Albuquerque can help you recover financially. You may be eligible to collect financial compensation for a long list of damages, including medical care, lost wages, vehicle repairs, pain, suffering, and more.
