New Mexico Motorcycle Crashes

Albuquerque, NM - Injuries Reported in Motorcycle-Vehicle Crash at Coors Blvd & Glenrio RdIn New Mexico, 5,579 motorcycle riders lost their lives in traffic accidents in 2020. Motorcycle riders continue to make up a disproportionate number of fatal traffic accidents in the state. In 2020, motorcycle riders were found to have a four times higher risk of being hurt in a collision and a 28 times higher risk of dying compared to those traveling in passenger vehicles.

We can safely say that the majority of motorcycle accidents that take place in Albuquerque are caused by the mistake, negligence, or inattentive driving of another driver. We know this based on our experience defending injured riders throughout the state.

Despite this, the insurance provider will likely attempt to assign some of the blame to the motorcycle rider. There is a bias against motorcycle riders, and this often means they are unfairly blamed for their own accidents. A falsified witness statement can also come into play and complicate your claim. Motorcycles fool our eyes into thinking they are traveling much faster than they actually are because of their size, and this means that many drivers misjudge the situation and cause serious collisions in the process.
