Albuquerque, NM - Major Injury Car Accident at I-40 & University Blvd

Albuquerque, NM (December 23, 2024) – On Monday, December 23, at least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident in the Albuquerque area. That afternoon, around 1:18 p.m., the accident was first reported on Interstate 40 WB near University Boulevard NE. The injured parties were treated by attending paramedics before being transferred to local hospitals for further aid. 

The roadway was closed while emergency crews were present, and tow trucks were later needed to remove the resulting debris and reopen the area to outside traffic. The circumstances leading to the collision have not been determined. The severity and number of the related injuries have not been determined.
