Albuquerque, NM – Multi-Vehicle Injury Crash on I-40 and Tramway Blvd NE

Albuquerque, NM (August 13, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash occurred at around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, at the intersection of Interstate 40 and Tramway Boulevard Northeast in Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene following reports that one person may have been pinned inside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found that one of the vehicles had flipped onto its roof. First responders quickly worked to free the person who was trapped. 

One individual was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital in serious condition, while three others sustained injuries, though their conditions have not been specified.

As a result of the crash, traffic in the area was heavily impacted. Drivers are advised to avoid the area, as the southbound Tramway at the I-40 on-ramp remains closed. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
