When a driver speeds or travels faster than roadway conditions allow, it reduces their ability to react to dangers on the road. This can greatly increase the chance of a life-changing auto accident. In the past 20 years, speeding has been a factor in roughly one-third of reported traffic fatalities across the United States, and more than 10,000 people are killed in high-speed collisions each year. In New Mexico, speeding is even more prevalent. Statistics show that it is involved in more than 35 percent of deadly crashes in the state. Speeding drivers are an active threat to others on the road, and they should be held responsible for the aftermath of a serious auto accident.
There is only so much that can be done to prevent a serious car accident. Speeding drivers can come out of nowhere and cause a life-changing collision in a matter of seconds. These crashes can leave victims with significant injuries and other damages, including mounting medical bills, lost income, and even pain and suffering. It is important that you are able to take the necessary steps to maximize your recovery during this difficult time. It can be hard to handle a personal injury claim while you manage new injuries and other losses resulting from your accident. A trained lawyer can step in to make sure that you are able to pursue full compensation for your injuries and other damages.
