Albuquerque, NM (February 22, 2025) - At least one person was hurt following a car accident in Albuquerque on Friday, February 21. Those requiring additional aid were later transferred to local hospitals. The area was temporarily closed while paramedics were present, and tow trucks were later sent to clear the resulting debris and reopen the roadway. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Speed can greatly impact the severity of a car accident. Each year, nearly 40 percent of traffic fatalities in New Mexico involve high-speed crashes. Tens of thousands are killed each year by speeding drivers annually in the United States, and almost one-third of traffic deaths in the past twenty years have involved speeding in some form. Drivers who fail to follow the speed limit or travel faster than allowed by roadway conditions can be potentially held responsible for any damages resulting from a serious car accident.
