Lovington, NM – Fatal Crash at E Ave D & S Industrial Rd

Lovington, NM (April 27, 2025) – On Thursday, April 24, one person was killed and several others injured after an auto accident in Lovington. The deadly crash took place at the intersection of E. Avenue D and South Industrial Road at around 5:31 p.m. Two vehicles reportedly collided at the scene. 

Local reports indicated that one driver was ejected in the impact. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. The ejected driver, later identified as 33-year-old Francisco Gonzalez Garcia of Lovington, was transported to Nor Lea Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. A woman and two children were traveling in the other vehicle. All three parties were transported to Nor Lea Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress, and more updates will be provided as it continues.
