Rio Rancho, NM – Two Killed in Crash on US-550 & NW Loop Rd

Rio Rancho, NM (August 16, 2024) – Two people were killed and three others injured after a car accident in the Rio Rancho area on Thursday, August 15. The deadly crash took place on US-550 near NW Loop Road. The highway was closed in both directions as a result of the crash. 

Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Two vehicles reportedly collided at the scene. Two victims sustained fatal injuries and were later pronounced dead. Three others were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more information will be provided as it continues.
