Roswell, NM – One Dead and Five Injured in Crash on N Union Ave & W 19th St
Roswell, NM (March 12, 2026) – A teenage girl lost her life after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in northwest Roswell that sent six people to the hospital. Emergency units responded to the collision around 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, along North Union Avenue near West 19th Street.
Authorities reported that a Honda Accord carrying four teenagers was traveling southbound on North Union Ave at a high speed when the driver lost control. The vehicle collided nearly head-on with a GMC Yukon that was traveling northbound on the roadway.
A 16-year-old girl who was riding in the Accord was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Two 17-year-old boys in the car suffered severe injuries and were transferred to another hospital for further treatment. A 15-year-old girl was also taken to a hospital before being transferred for additional care with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
The Yukon was driven by a 56-year-old woman from Roswell, and her 11-year-old daughter was a passenger. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be minor and were later released.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
