Santa Fe, NM - Pedestrian Fatally Hit by City Vehicle at Bus Stop

Santa Fe, NM (March 26, 2025) – On Monday, March 24, a man was killed after being struck by a City of Santa Fe vehicle in the Santa Fe area. The incident took place at the Transit Transportation Area of the Santa Fe Place Mall parking lot at around 4:35 p.m. The 75-year-old male was sitting at a bench when he was hit. 

The driver of the Honda Civic told officials that he accidentally put the car in drive instead of reverse, hitting the victim. The driver was reportedly a bus driver with the city of Santa Fe since 2009. Emergency responders were sent to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving aid from attending personnel, the victim suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is underway.
