South Valley, NM – Off-Duty Officer Killed in Hit-&-Run at Chapulin Rd & Coors Blvd
South Valley, NM (August 15, 2024) – An off-duty police officer was killed after a hit-and-run accident in the South Valley area on Wednesday, August 14. The deadly crash occurred early that morning, around 1 a.m., at the corner of Chapulin Road and Coors Boulevard. It was later revealed that Officer Bianca Quintana was traveling on foot when she was hit by an oncoming motorist.
The at-fault driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured party. Emergency responders were later dispatched to the scene, but despite life-saving measures, Quintana was later pronounced dead at the scene. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
