Riding a bike is far from safe, especially when you are sharing the road with careless drivers. However, it is a useful way for many people to get around in New Mexico. The average number of bicycle deaths in New Mexico is about on par with the national average. According to the data, bicycle crashes claim the lives of an average of 3.4 people in the state for every million people. Riders have little protection from the full impact of a crash, and you need to be ready to pursue compensation if someone close to you is killed in a bicycle crash.
