Albuquerque, NM – Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash at I-25 & Jefferson St

Albuquerque, NM (July 17, 2025) – On Tuesday, July 15, there were fatal injuries reported after an auto-pedestrian accident in the Albuquerque area. The deadly collision was reported on Interstate 25 S. Pan American Freeway near Jefferson Street late that night at around 10:30 p.m. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched after being notified of a person lying on the roadway. 

The injured party was provided aid by attending medical personnel. Despite support, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. It is believed that the victim was struck by an oncoming motorist who fled the scene without rendering necessary aid. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities were present. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
