Albuquerque, NM – Injuries Reported in I-40 Crash near University Blvd

Albuquerque, NM (April 15, 2023) – The Albuquerque Police Department responded to the scene of an automobile accident that took place on Friday evening and ended in injuries.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on April 14, APD was notified that an automobile accident occurred on Interstate 40.

Authorities arrived at the scene and located damage to vehicles blocking the right two lanes of travel and the shoulder near mile marker 160 at University Boulevard.

The police and firefighters worked quickly to remove the damaged vehicles from the lanes of travel.

Emergency medical services provided treatment to the victims who suffered injuries. At least one of the people involved in the crash suffered injuries and had to be transported to a local hospital.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
