Albuquerque, NM – Injury Accident Reported on I-40 near I-25

Albuquerque, NM (February 17, 2024) – On February 16, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department and local firefighters were called to the scene of a car crash that sent at least one person to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries. The accident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on February 16.

Crash reports indicate that a collision occurred on Interstate 40 near Interstate 25. The incident prompted the closure of the westbound side of the road, causing severe delays in the area near the northbound entrance to the interstate. Authorities remained on site extensively as they worked to clear debris from the scene. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for medical care. At this time, the Albuquerque Police Department is investigating.
