Riding a motorcycle is much more dangerous than riding in a passenger car. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 80 percent of motorcycle accidents result in death or injury. In fact, riders are almost four times more likely to be killed in the event of a collision. A study from the National Center for Statistics and Analysis found that almost 5,000 motorcyclists were killed in collisions in 2019. Of these fatalities, nearly 94 percent were operating the bike, and 6 percent were passengers. New Mexico was the site of 42 of the motorcycle deaths reported in the United States that year.
Motorcyclists are aware that there are serious risks associated with riding a motorcycle. Every second while operating a bike is crucial, and riders need to react much more quickly than those riding in passenger cars. Even a seemingly minor motorcycle crash can result in life-changing injuries. You should not be left to handle the aftermath of a serious accident on your own. Despite what many people think, motorcyclists are often not to blame for collisions. Drivers of passenger cars are known to neglect the needs of riders and put everyone in a dangerous position. If you were unfairly hurt by a reckless motorist, you need to consult a qualified personal injury lawyer right away.
